Menu File Upload Format
To simplify your menu creation process, we have created a simple Spreadsheet Template that you can use to fill out your menu details. Once you have filled it out, upload it using the customer signup form or send it to your account representative at Menu.tz for action.
Category format
| Column Name | Data Description |
|---|---|
| No. | A running serial number that is incremented by 1 on every row. This is a mandatory field. |
| Category Name | This is the proper name of the category. E.g. Pizzas |
| Category Description | This is the description of the category and may include notes. E.g. 1: Pizzas made with the freshest ingredients in our clay fired oven. E.g. 2: All items are served with a side of french fries This is an optional field. |
Menu items format
| Column Name | Data Description |

| No. | A running serial number that is incremented by 1 on every row. This is a mandatory field. |
| Menu Category | The main category that the menu item belongs to. E.g. Italian Cuisine, All-Day Menu, Continental etc. This is a mandatory field. |
| Item Name | The name of the menu item. This is a mandatory field. |
| Item Description | A description of the menu item. Try and make this as descriptive as possible to to appeal to the diner's senses. E.g. An original triple decker burger with our secret sauce mixed with herbs and spices. This is an optional field but we highly encourage you to use it. Menu items with vivid descriptions tend to outperform those that do not have any descriptions at all. |
| Item Notes | This is any important notes about the item. Commas are not supported. E.g. Serves 2. Served with French Fries. This is an optional field. |
| Default Price | This is the default price of the item. If the item has variations, e.g. different sizes, then use the optional price fields. This is a mandatory field. |
| Default Price Label | This is the price label for the default price. It will be displayed above the Default Price. E.g. 12" Size This is an optional field. |
| Alternative Price | This is the alternative price of the item. If the item has variations, e.g. different sizes, then use this price field. This is an optional field. |
| Alternative Price Label | This is the price label for the alternative price. It will be displayed above the Alternative Price. E.g. 15" Size This is an optional field. |
